Pursue Early Childhood Education

  • Early Childhood Education majors desire to teach and make a positive impact on the lives of elementary students. Often inspired by their teachers, these majors want to specialize in how to appropriately teach several content areas to younger children. As models of lifelong learning, majors work with integrity and an open mind to keep growing in their understanding of content and professionalism.
  • Education majors are trained to see individual students as they are, recognizing the effects of American society on Education, and discovering their fit as educators. Early Childhood Education majors build the foundation to teach Math & Science to K-5 students. Students should prioritize taking Core math and science courses earlier to not be slowed down in their Field of Study.
  • This degree can be completed fully online or with a mix of on-campus and online courses. Education courses include a field experience component.
  • GHC’s Early Childhood Education degree is a good first step toward a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. Students should anticipate taking professional assessments as they work toward their state-issued teaching license.
