eLearning Adult Learner Information
Welcome to the Georgia Highlands College eLearning adult learner information website.
As you take the initial steps to complete a college degree or pursue a goal of lifelong learning,
keep in mind that GHC’s faculty and staff are here to guide you toward success. Adding
school to the list of activities in your busy life does require balancing family, work, and
other life commitments. While this may seem overwhelming at first, with desire, persistence,
and the help of GHC’s teachers and advisors, you can get on the right track.
The video below from the University System of Georgia gives the perspective of other adult
students and addresses some concerns that non-traditional adult students typically have
as they start or return to college.
Here at GHC, eLearning consists of online, hybrid, DVD, and GHC ConnectED (real time video)
course formats. While there are unique requirements within each type of course, they
provide a set of flexible alternatives to the traditional college classroom that affords the adult learner
the opportunity to find the best fit in course selection.
Are You Ready for Online Learning?
As you start to explore your options, you may be wondering, "Is a fully or partially online course for me?"
Use the assessment on the Georgia ONmyLINE site to help determine your readiness for
distance/online learning. After you take this assessment, contact the eLearning advisor,
Leslie Terrell-Payne, at firstname.lastname@example.org. Note: you may wish to send her a copy of the
results prior to contacting her.
