The first few weeks in an eCore class can be rough. Not only are you trying to learn the course material, but you are also getting comfortable with navigating the course's Web site. Be assured that there are elements in place to help guide you.
1. Syllabus: When to select the Syllabus link in the upper right corner of the homepage, it will take you to a page the contains the polices for your course. It is vital that you recognize that there are many common components of eCore sylabi, but that dues dates, grading policies and the number of assignments will vary from course to course. Just because your quizzes are on Tuesday in one class, does not mean that quizzes will be on Tuesday in all eCore classes. You are responsible for knowing the different policies for each class that you take.
2. Calendar: One of the navigational aids that you will find very vauluable is the course calendar. Its link is found in the upper right corner of the homepage. A sample course calendar is below. Notice that in addition to assignment due dates, it contains information on important eCore date, such as, drop/add and Vista maintenance. You can click on any of the dates to get more informations about the assignments due. Some students have found it helpful to print the calendar.
3. Assessments Link: In the upper right corner of the homepage, you will find the Assessments link. A sample Assessments page is below, Here you will find information about the quizzes and online tests in the course.
