Preparing for the COMPASS PlacementTest
The University System of Georgia and Georgia Highlands College use COMPASS as a placement test for most new students. Every student who has College Preparatory Curriculum (CPC) deficiencies in Math or English is required to take it. (CPC deficiencies are explained in the General Academic Information section of the GHC Catalog.) Students who are not CPC-deficient in Math or English and who have high SAT or ACT scores may be able to exempt COMPASS testing.
