Welcome new and current students. Georgia Highlands College has several Testing Centers to serve our student population. Testing Centers are located on the Floyd campus and Cartersville campus. Testing is regularly scheduled at these centers. Testing services are also offered at our Douglasville, Marietta and Paulding instructional sites.
General office hours are 8:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8-12:00 p.m. on Friday but may vary due to testing requirements.
Students must pay any required testing fee at the business office or at one of the instructional sites prior to checking in to test.
A valid picture ID is required at check in for any test given at our Testing Centers.
Food, drinks, cell phones and other electronic devices are not permitted in the Testing Centers.
Tests and Testing Fees
Compass Placement Exam--Register on the web at https://discovery.highlands.edu:8888/pls/APPSTATUS/appl_status.login . Testing fee is $20.
Compass Exit Exam-- Exit exams are no longer given in the Testing Centers.
GHC eLearning Exams - Many eLearning professors use Testing Services test centers for midterm and final exam administration. If your professor is using this service, register for your exams through SCORE. Once logged in, select Student Services, click Enroll in Online Class Test Session link and register for a test session with seats still available. Once registered you should print out and read the testing policies on your confirmation. The eLearning midterm testing schedule is typically posted in SCORE within 1 week of classes starting. The eLearning finals testing schedule is typically posted within one week after eLearning midterm exams have ended. There are deadlines for student registration so be proactive. Register early to reserve an available seat that best accommodates your schedule. Students may take only one exam per test session. There is no additional charge for eLearning exams given in the Testing Centers.
Independent Study Exams--Student contacts the Testing Services Director or Assistant Director at the preferred site to request a testing appointment. Testing fee is $25 per exam.
On-Campus SAT (formerly called ISAT)--Student registers by filling out the form and paying the testing fee at Accounting Services or Business office by the published deadline to register. Testing fee is $40.
Make-up Testing--Testing Services does not administer make up tests for classroom, online, or independent study courses. Contact the professor to discuss make up test options.
Other--Testing fees are non-refundable.
Special Accommodations - Students who are eligible for special accommodations when testing should contact the Disabilities Support Services specialist at their campus to arrange a special accommodations testing appointment.
