Q: How do I change my deductions/tax allowances?

A: You will need to complete an updated Federal Form W-4 and State Form G-4, and return the completed forms to the Payroll office.

Q: There are no federal income taxes withheld from my paycheck.  Why?

A: The most common reason for having no federal income taxes withheld is simply that your wages subject to income tax were below the level that requires the federal income tax withholding according to the IRS tax tables for the current year.

Another reason may be that an employee has selected “Exempt” for their withholding allowance status when they completed their Form W-4, and therefore, no federal income taxes will be withheld from their paycheck.

If there are any further questions regarding income taxes withheld, please contact the payroll office.
