eStudents with Special needs Proctored Testing
Students who feel they may need an accommodation based on the impact of a disability should make an appointment during the first two weeks of the semester with the Disability Support staff in the Student Support Services office to coordinate reasonable accommodations for proctored exams.
Students with documented accommodations will not register for online exam using the Score/Banner system as outline on the How to Register for a Test page. They must coordinate their exams with the Disability Support staff in the Student Support Services office. Students who have accommodations available to them should be aware that they are required to make arrangements at least two weeks prior to the exam date in order to have their test proctored with the accomodation.
If you are a student who requires accommodation for any type of disability or other condition of special need, it is your responsibility to inform your instructor of this need during the first two weeks of class AND provide him or her with a letter of documentation from the Disability Support staff in the Student Support Services office. In addition, failure on your part to request this accommodation with the Disability Support staff in a time within less than two week prior to an exam, until later in the semester, or after the semester has ended, will not be grounds for reconsideration of any grades or the final course grade. Students should be aware that when they take an online class that they have the potential to forfeit their extended time accommodation simply due to the logistics of the testing availability and arrangement complications. However, Georgia Highlands Colleges makes a reasonable effort to accomadate students.
