IMPORTANT - POLICY ALERT!Beginning Fall 2012, all students (both new applicants and those who have not attended GHC in one year) seeking admission to Georgia Highlands College must meet minimum USG Board of Regents admission standards (based on their particular student type) AND meet the new mandatory learning support standards (see below) in order to be eligible for admission to GHC. NOTE: Unless required by your specific student type (see above links for requirements by student type), Georgia Highlands College does not require SAT or ACT scores. However, if you have taken either test, submitting official scores may help you to exempt COMPASS testing. MINIMUM COMPASS TEST SCORES REQUIRED FOR ADMISSION Based on newly enacted USG Board of Regents policy mandates, Georgia Highlands College has set new minimum COMPASS Placement scores in each subject area that take effect in Fall 2012. Students taking the COMPASS test for Fall 2012 admission (and future terms) who score below the minimum scores will not be eligible for admission to the college. In addition, those applicants that place into learning support for all three areas (English, Reading and Math) will not be eligible for admission to the college.
All students are eligible for one retest in each area of the COMPASS Placement Test. To prepare for the initial test or a retest, use the link below to access the Compass Test preparation web page COMPASS PLACEMENT RETESTING AT GEORGIA HIGHLANDS COLLEGE COMPASS Placement Retesting at GHC is open to all students who take the placement test for admission to GHC, under the following rules. No fee is required for one retest per area. Registering for classes immediately terminates the retest option, with no exceptions.
