What is my email address/password? TOP>>
You can find your email address and password by printing your schedule/bill. The information you will need to access your email will be printed under the section labeled Account Information (see below). Your email address will be your username@student.highlands.edu.

How do I check my email? TOP>>

I'm not getting emails from my professors. TOP>>
The most common reason for this is that you are either forwarding your email to an invalid address or you are forwarding it to an Internet Service Provider (ISP) that doesn't accept forwarded messages. Many ISP's consider forwarded messages SPAM and do not allow them to be delivered. Since we can't guarantee that your ISP will accept the messages we recommend that you disable message forwarding. If you use message forwarding, please check "Keep local copy" to insure mail is still being delivered to your GHC email account
To remove your forwarding, log onto your email account and click on the preferences button.

Remove everything from the "Forward mail to:" line, scroll to the bottom of the page, and press the "Save" button.

Can I use my laptop on the Georgia Highlands wired network? TOP>>
Yes. You must first activate your wireless account through GHC Connect and then you will be able to use your email/network password to access the wireless network at GHC. See below for further instructions on how to enable your wireless account.
What is GHC Connect? TOP>>
GHC Connect is a system that allows you to:
- Reset your password from anywhere - in case it has expired or if you just want to update it.
- Set your security questions - this is an important feature you should set the first time you login. This will allow you to reset your password if your current pas sword has expired. Just choose "forgot password" from the login page and follow the instructions to reset your password.
- Sign up for text messaging - be notified of general announcements, severe weather alerts, or emergencies on your cell phone.
- Activate your wireless account - use this option to activate your wireless account or to synchronize your password if your wireless account is not working.
What username/password do I use with the wireless? TOP>>
You will use the same username/password that you use to access your email; however, you'll need to enable your account before you can access the wireless network. To enable your wireless account, please visit GHC Connect, click the wireless tab, then activate your account. If you have any problems or are unable to log into GHC Connect, you will need to stop by the IT department on the Rome or Cartersville campus so that we can setup your username/password for wireless access. You can also send an email to rt@highlands.edu from your Georgia Highlands College email account requesting wireless access.

By default, wireless accounts aren't enabled for students. To enable your wireless account, please visit GHC Connect, click the wireless tab, then activate your account. Does Georgia Highlands College have wireless on the SPSU campus? TOP>>
Yes. Students can use SPSU's wireless network with their GHC network username and password. There is an SSID of 'ghc' which uses a web based authentication mechanism and your Highlands credentials. All you need is a wireless client, which you can get from SPSU's helpdesk in building H.

You'll need to log into GHC Connect with your current password, click the wireless tab and click the "Synchronize Wireless Password Now" button.
How do I change my password? TOP>>
You can change your password by visiting GHC Connect, clicking the password tab and completing the form.
Why should I set my security questions on GHC Connect? TOP>>
If you forget your password, you can use your security questions/answers to reset your password from anywhere without having to contact IT. Please configure your security questions through GHC Connect.
